Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in an Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors, and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than one century. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit series B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway credits. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and was raised in Denver.
